E-Learning in STREaM

At STREaM, we use use current and relevant sources of information to get our point across about educating students of and for the 21st century. Our central aim is take information and data from the highest quality sources, which provide analytical syntheses of research on key topics and issues in education. The Course Management System we are using was developed by BrainHoney, Agilix Lab. But, we looked to BlackBoard, a leading and long running e-learning platform to gain insight into how STREaM will integrate this system appropriately and effectively.

We aim to help each student that we serve achieve academic success. “Tutoring is a commitment to improving the academic achievement of each student. Academic achievement is linked to the quality of instruction. Research shows a clear correlation between successful learning and quality of instruction.” Hence, the instructional medium must be of the highest quality.

Virtual Classroom System (VCS)

The BrainHoney VCS is a 21st century, student-centered, standards-aligned teaching and learning platform. This system provides STREaM with an all inclusive medium for developing and implementing quality student lessons and sustained and intensive tutor professional development. Our students will engage in appropriate and effective learning opportunities scaffolded by high-quality and highly trained tutors. The following diagrams are schematics of the BrainHoney VCS.

STREaM Tutoring has moved fully into using 21st Century Tools for teaching and learning. The VCS is integrated with an Online Interactive Whiteboard (OIW) with audio, video, and recording capabilities.
